Is a haptic, e.g. brushing, possible with the low installation height?

In short: yes, FlexFix is even available only brushed. We don't like lacquer ourselves, and nature doesn't like it either, so a clear "thumbs up" for brushing.

Is the product compatible with underfloor heating?

Yes.

How is the walking comfort of the floor?

The real wood surface and the slightly cushioning effect of the overall construction make walking very pleasant, especially when barefoot.

What surface materials are available?

The start-up assortment is still being thoroughly tested. It is very important to us that we use real materials, i.e. no plastic. Our surfaces are therefore always real: e.g. real oak, real cork.

Do I have to be a professional to install FlexFix system floors?

No, FlexFix was specially developed to make installation as easy as possible.

Are the planks connected to each other, e.g. by tongue-and-groove joints?

On the one hand, the planks are held together by the - almost magical - magnetic attraction. On the other hand, we have introduced an overlap on two sides so that the floor lies even better.

What tools do I need for the installation?

Saw (jigsaw, chop saw, hand-held circular saw, or similar), metre rule and pencil to cut the planks to size. Removal of the old floor is not necessary if the evenness is sufficient. No glue or similar is needed - FlexFix is the "no headache" solution for every (floor) situation!

How are floorboards replaced?

To replace planks, you only need a standard suction lifter, which we will be happy to supply with the first FlexFix delivery. This allows you to quickly change and replace individual planks.

How is the FlexFix system floor maintained?

Maintenance is no different from known real wood floors: damp wiping is recommended as the preferred cleaning option.

Can the FlexFix system floor be sanded?

No, sanding is not intended because of the low installation height. But ask your friends: who ever sands their wooden floor? No one. That's why we focus on the important things in life: Simplicity, speed and flexibility.

How many components does FlexFix consist of?

Our floor covering consists of two components: the thin FlexMat that you simply roll out on the existing floor and the FlexFix planks made of real materials (e.g. oak) that are flexed on top, i.e. flexibly magnetically fixed.

Does my floor have to be metallic for FlexFix to hold onto it?

No, don't worry, your existing floor does not have to be metallic or ferromagnetic. The FlexMat that we supply is the opposite pole to the magnetic planks. This way, your completely renovated FlexFix floor will hold tight and stay where it's supposed to be!

How even does the substrate have to be?

A subfloor that is as level as possible is definitely an advantage so that the top layer moves as little as possible when walked on.

Can FlexFix be laid on tiles?

Yes, you can lay FlexFix over an existing tiled floor. Unevenness due to tile structure and joints will not be a factor. If you want to check the evenness of your subfloor, the so-called "gauge" should not exceed 3 mm at a measuring point distance of one metre.

Can FlexFix be used in the bathroom?

FlexFix is a real wood floor. This means that it reacts similarly to a parquet floor. As long as the floor is not exposed to standing water or it is wiped off immediately, the floor can also be used in the bathroom. In other words, please make sure that heavy splashing is always followed by a short wipe-down.

Can FlexFix be used in the kitchen?

FlexFix is a real wood floor. This means that it reacts similarly to a parquet floor. As long as the floor is not exposed to standing water or it is wiped away immediately, the floor can also be used in the bathroom. So, let the Jamie Oliver in you out and swing the wooden spoon! FlexFix will not stand in your way.

How strong is the magnetic field?

The magnetic flux density falls below all common limits. The use of the floor in the living environment is therefore harmless. (according to User Centered Technologies Research, FH Vorarlberg). Furthermore, the magnetic field only has a very local effect, which you can easily test with a paper clip - order a free test kit and see for yourself!
